Antonio Carlos Neves Campos
Antonio Carlos Neves Campos was born in Tatui, Sâo Paulo,
Brazil.
His musical education began at the age of five and continued on
to the Conservatory of Tatui, where he majored in piano in 1964.
In 1966, he won the Regional Competition of Piano in Massena
New York USA. and attended the State University of New York at
Potsdam and where he studied with Arthur Frackenpohl and
Raymond Schinner at the Crane School of Music. Since 1984 he
has been the well respected, Director of the Conservatory of
Tatui, where he was teaching for several years. The
Conservatory of Tatui is the biggest music school in Latin
America and the most important music school in Brazil. As an
arranger, Mr. Campos has written for several musical groups
including the Symphonic Orchestra of Campinas, Brazilian Wind
Orchestra, Sâo Paulo Symphonic Orchestra, the Youth
Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Band of the State of Sâo
Paulo, the Gallery Band and many others.
Mr. Campos as an arranger and conductor, has worked with
several famous musicians such as Wagner Tiso, Hector Costita,
Victor Biglioni, Altamiro Carrilho, Nivaldo Ornellas, Toquinho,
Edu Lobo, Luis Melodia, Quarteto em Cy amongst many others
at recording sessions and shows.
Mr. Campos has recently conducted two concerts with trumpet
player Marvin Stamm (USA). Currently he has been working on
electronic music, with synthesisers, samplers and computer.
Mr. Campos has also coordinated the Festival de Inverno "Dr.
Luis Martins Arrobas", the traditional Winter Festival "Campos of
the Jordào" Mr. Campos has created the project "Pro Bands"
(music in the schools) developed for the Secretary of Culture in
support to the bands of the Sào Paulo State.
Mr. Campos has recently recorded three CD's with the singer
composer Toquinho, working as arranger, pianist and conductor.
