Edson Beltrami

Edson Beltrami, born São Paulo, has received his early musical studies first with his father and after at the Conservatório de Tatuí with João Dias Carrasqueira, at the Flute course. He started  playing with the Symphonic Orchestra of Tatuí at 1975, and since 1977 has been awarded several 1st prizes in Flute competitions.


As a solo flutist, he played with the most important orchestras in his country: São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, São Paulo Young Symphony Orchestra, EMP(Piracicaba Music School) Symphony Orchestra, Tatuí Symphony Orchestra, Radio MEC Symphony Orchestra of Rio deJaneiro, Ceará Chamber Orchestra, Campinas
Symphony Orchestra, and others.  He has worked with well known conductors: Eleazar de Carvalho (BRA.-USA), Gerard Devos(FR.), Hans Martin Schneidt (GER.), Isaac Karabitchevsky(BRA.),Benito Juarez (BRA.). Among his teachers are Antonio Carlos Carrasqueira(BRA.), Jean Noel Saghaard (FR.- BRA.), Alexandr Magnin (SWITZ.), Alain Marion (FR.), Pierre-Yves Artaud (FR), Pierre Andre Vallade (FR), Keith Underwood (USA). He participated in “Campos do Jordão Winter Festival” in 1976, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82. developing an intensive career as flutist, composer and conductor, he was invited to work in “Campos do Jordão Winter Festival” as Festival Orchestra Conductor (1993) and is, since 1994, the Symphonic Band Conductor at the same Festival. As a composer, he has his works included in orchestra programs around his native country. At the Dramatic and Musical Conservatory of Tatuí, he was the Wind Instruments Area Co-ordinator and
presently teaches flute, chamber music, composition and conducts the Tatuí Young Symphony Orchestra. In 1995, he was awarded a 1st Prize in the PRÊMIO EL DORADO DE MÚSICA, one of the most important competitions of the Latin America. In 1996, he recorded his first Compact Disc by the Eldorado Label, and
plays with Maksoud Camerata, one of the most important orchestras in his country.  In 1997, was classified for the Kobe International Flute Competition, Japan.  Beltrami has participated as First flute at São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra. In 2003 performed at important Music Halls in Switzerland as Soloist and Conductor.
